Technology of 2009: Sunnybag - Recharge your gadgets while walking

The Sunnybag is a practical bag (or haversack) such as those that are used to carry a laptop. It is made of leather and is available in black or brown color.

The particularity of this bag is it has a large 3-watt solar panel with a Li-ion rechargeable battery, which apparently has a good efficiency since it can be recharged even in a cloudy day.

The utility of this bag cannot be underestimated. It can recharge our favorite portable gadgets while we are walking. Therefore, we will be able to keep those gadgets in a “full-load state” and in a simple way. Of course, the best thing is this bag is totally ecological.

The Sunnybag allows users to charge some gadgets like small laptops, iPhone mobile devices, iPods, almost all models of mobile phones and, as you could imagine, every device that can be charged through an USB port. We have to mention that the total weight of this bag is about 1.4 Kg (approximately 3.1 pounds) including the built-in battery; and its dimensions are 43 x 32 x 8 cm.

Also, there is a “Business Pro” version of this bag where there is enough space to carry laptops with up to 15.4″ screens.

The creator of this great invention is Stefan Ponsold, project leader of R&D at Ponsold (an Austrian upholsterer company). He has not discarded the possibility of producing massively this type of bags in the future. Anyway, at this time, it is possible to buy the Sunnybag through Internet, even if you are not in Europe, since the company offers international shipping. You can get this fashion “geek” accessory for 165.83 Euros (approximately USD$ 249).
